Mavin Salter's Business Profile

Marvin Salter, Sr.

Marvin Sr. gained his knowledge from his dad and working in all phases of residential and commercial construction projects. He framed and did interior trim work on all homes he built until late 2005, but at the age of 56, he could no longer do the rigorous trade on a daily basis.  Although subcontractors do the majority of the work he can still be found at the jobsite on a daily basis. He keeps his tools readily available and contributes by providing assistance to our subcontractors.  With his hands-on approach, he is able to highlight your home by ensuring it is built to the highest of standards.

Hobbies/Interests:

Fishing, Hunting, Wood working, Gardening, Cattle

Marvin Sr. : In his own words

"I have always enjoyed building homes and wood working in general. Sometimes the summers and winters can be difficult but when I see a proud homeowner move into a home that I was a part of, makes it all worthwhile. I always say even though I may not live in that home, it still has my name on it and I want our clients to be proud and say Marvin Salter built this home."

Marvin Salter, Jr.

Alabama Home Builder 2005-present

Shortly after high school graduation, Marvin Jr. enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Aerospace Propulsion Apprentice (aircraft jet engine mechanic). After completion of basic training and technical training school he was stationed at Eglin AFB, Fl, home of the 33rd Fighter Wing. His desire to learn and become one of the best at his profession resulted in him being recognized at one of the Top Maintenance Professionals numerous times. He made the decision to leave active duty in 2005 and transfer into the Alabama Air National Guard to pursue a profession that has run in his family for generations. Construction is a familiarity that never left him even when he joined the Air Force. He has been building homes with his Dad ever since. He received his Alabama Home Builders license in 2007 after meeting all requirements and successfully passing the state certification exam. Marvin Jr. hopes to be able to pass on his knowledge to his son Jase and continue building homes for generations to come.

Hobbies/Interests:

Anything to do with construction, military, airplanes, physics and the Universe and spending time with my family

Marvin Jr. : In his own words

"I have always felt that if you enjoy something, you will take more ownership be more dedicated in what you do. Building homes is not just a job, it consumes most of my time. When I return home in the evening I spend most of my time researching the latest trends and technology so we will be able to share these ideas with our clients. I am very blessed and thankful for the opportunity to work with my Dad. For him to pass on some of the invaluable knowledge that took years of hands on experience to learn has been incredible. Being able to see thousands of intricate pieces come together and create a home for a client is an extremely rewarding experience."
